About IIHT, Bargarh

I.I.H.T. Bargarh is the fifth Institute in the country under central sector IIHTs, where as others are located at Varanasi, Salem, Guwahati, Jodhpur and Phulia. Other four State Sector Institutes are located at Venkatgiri, Gadag, Champa & Kannur. I.I.H.T., Bargarh was established in 2008 offering 3 years Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology. Bargarh, is a small town and the district headquarter situated on NH6 with Sambalpur to its eastern side (50 Kms.), Raipur the capital of Chhattisgarh (225Kms.) & Bhubaneswar (325 kms.) the capital of Odisha.

The intake for this diploma is 45 seats and this is the 8th batch of final year DHTT (2017-18) students of the Institute. The students in this batch are from three states namely Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Now the recent seat allocation is as shown in the adjacent table.

Campus of the Institute is spread over in 33.02 acre area and is 8 km away from Bargarh. The institute campus has 3 storied Administrative block, double storied Workshop block, Multipurpose Hall cum Auditorium, two separate Hostels for Boys and Girls with 60 and 15 rooms, Guest house and Staff quarters.

We at, IIHT, Bargarh will educate the students to become enlightened professional to lead the handloom and textile industry and the society. We will provide individual attention, world class quality education in the handloom and textile technology and insulate the values of character building.

Mission

Our mission is to cater high quality technical and managerial manpower for the handloom / textile industry and to undertake Research and Development programmes for its sustainable growth and maintain close liaison with the industry so as to enable it to face the changing technological and environmental global changes.
